RISE participants reviewed the mission and activities of RISE and set goals for the coming year. Participants were asked about what they valued most from taking part in RISE activities.

Goals for RISE

• Seed the region with graduates who have skills that are aligned with workforce needs
• Attract businesses to the area because of RISE
• Hosting events for students
• Understand how graduates are hired–how do students catch the eye of the employer
• Not enough employees here–we need to keep ones we have

Benefits of RISE

• Connections–getting businesses on campus.
• Personal relationships
• Engagement
• Professional development and networking

Key Outcomes

• Continue meeting monthly–fourth Fridays from 8:30-10:00
• Next meeting is April 25 at Project Best to discuss the skills gap between graduates and employer expectations

• Have a student focus group
• Conduct a survey
